As such, you’ll find a variety of flavors and restaurants on Bonaire, suitable for every budget.
From fine dining restaurants to food trucks to fresh seafood and local Bonairean specialties (iguana or goat stew, anyone?), here are the best places to eat in Bonaire!
Guide: The Best Restaurants in Bonaire
Brass Boer
- 🏷 $$$$
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 44 Punt Vierkant (Delfins Beach Resort)
The holy grail of fine dining on Bonaire, if you’re looking for a gastronomic experience worthy of Michelin stars, then you’ll find just what you’re seeking at Brass Boer.
This restaurant is owned and managed by Jonnie and Thérèse Boer, most known for their main restaurant, De Librije, which is actually a 3 Michelin-star restaurant in the Netherlands.
Here, not only will you indulge in your selection of gourmet tapas or a creative, 5-course menu, but you’ll also submerge into the Caribbean atmosphere as this restaurant is beachfront inside the 4-star Delfins Beach Resort. Even if you are not a guest at the hotel, you can still make a reservation for Brass Boer—but do so well in advance!
Of course, there’s no denying the bill will be a hefty one (we spent $245 USD for two people); so make sure to review the menu before you reserve a table. The experience is definitely worth it!

Posada Para Mira
- 🏷 $+
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 6MP6+J6F, Kaya Para Mira, Rincón
If you’re looking for local, traditional dishes from Bonaire, then head to Posada Para Mira in the village of Rincón, about 25 minutes outside of Kralendijk. The restaurant is covered but open-air and perched on a hill overlooking the wild Washington Slagbaai National Park.
From the live music to the tropical breeze to the delicious food and the beautiful views, everything about Posada Para Mira oozes authentic Bonaire.
We went here with our guide Rolando, who recommended (and always orders) the salted cod so that’s what we ordered as well—and it did not disappoint!
All of the fish or meat dishes are accompanied by fried plantains, fried funchi, rice, beans, fresh salad, and pumpkin or sweet potatoes. Make sure not to skip this restaurant on Bonaire! They are open M, W, F, and weekends from 11 am–6 pm.
Ingridiënts
- 🏷 $$$
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 85 Kaya Gob. N. Debrot, Kralendijk (Buddy Dive Resort)
More fine dining? Yes, please! Head to Ingridiënts for upscale Mediterranean food and an unhampered view of the Caribbean Sea.
Whether you want fresh fish, creamy pasta, or a juicy steak, you can find it here. Pair your meal with a perfect glass of wine and settle in for a delicious meal.
We came here on one of our last nights in Bonaire and really appreciate the attention to detail and friendliness of the servers. The Blue Marlin Carpaccio, and the Sea Salt “Crusted” Dorade (the chef’s specialty), was delicious.
Ingridiënts is open from 12-3 pm and 6-10 pm and is located right above the Buddy Dive Resort. You can find parking opposite the resort by the road.
Kite City Food Truck
- 🏷 $+
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 Te Amo Beach
Craving fresh fish, but without the cost of a fine dining restaurant? Then head to Kite City Food Truck where you can feast on fresh catch-of-the-day and local fish served hot on a bun or wrap.
We ordered the famous tuna burgers here after a morning of diving and it was the perfect on-the-go meal without wait times or tables.
The location is right on Te Amo Beach, which is an idyllic spot for snorkeling, watching the sunset, or sunbathing!

And if that’s not reason enough to visit, go check it out to hang out with Nuno and Mac, the guys behind the grill, who are super friendly and fun! Not only do they make freakin’ good food, but they use reusable plates and cups to ensure minimal waste.
La Cantina Brewery
- 🏷 $$+
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 12 Kaya Grandi, Kralendijk
Bonaire’s brewery is not to miss, especially if you like beer!
They have an adjacent garden restaurant which, in my opinion, has one of the best “restaurant atmospheres” on the island. It’s fun and upbeat, but cozy and casual. You feel like you could be at a fine dining restaurant but it’s too laid-back for that.
The menu here is a smorgasbord of items. You have classic pub grub, but with upscale touches. Think craft beer, but also fine wine and unique cocktails, plus a variety of mains—a pumpkin risotto, a tenderloin steak, truffle linguini, a burger, and fresh market fish.
We ordered the Caribbean-style Niçoise salad, smoked watermelon gazpacho (amazing), and the catch of the day.
In sum, La Cantina Cerveceria is the perfect hang-out spot and restaurant in Bonaire for good food, good drinks, and good vibes!
Mezze
- 🏷 $$
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 17 Kaya Charles E.B Hellmund
Mezze is all-around one of the best restaurants on Bonaire. From its atmosphere to its service to its delicious food, it really ticks all the boxes for a great dining experience.
After a few days of eating fish at every meal, you might be looking for something different. Mezze serves scrumptious Middle Eastern fare with a contemporary, Bonairean twist!
Their wood-fired pita bread is claimed to be the “soul of Mezze” and their small plates are perfect for sharing between friends or family.
Our group of four ordered the Hummus, Tabouleh, Baba Ghanous, Stuffed Grape Leaves, and 2x the Istanbul-style Shrimp in a buttery-garlic pomegranate sauce (plus two desserts, hehe). Everything was on point, and our server was super friendly and welcoming!
Sebastian’s
- 🏷 $$+
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 60 Julio A. Abraham Boulevard, Kralendijk
Sebastian’s is an oceanfront restaurant located just north of downtown Kralendijk (just opposite VIP Diving).
The atmosphere and food here are upscale, but also casual. The dinner menu features mostly fresh fish and catch-of-the-day dishes but also pasta creations, small plates, and a couple of vegan dishes. They also feature “Italian Sundays” and feature an extensive wine menu.
Above all, Sebastian’s offers one of the best views of the sea among the restaurants in Bonaire overlooking the water (it’s up there with Ingridiënts and Rum Runners!).
Go before sunset so you can dine while watching the blazing sun as it dips below the horizon. Night divers will soon come out and you’ll see flashlights in the water. Buon appetito!
Ocean Oasis
- 🏷 $$+
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 EEG Boulevard 260, Kings Beach Bonaire
Ocean Oasis is a beautiful boho-chic beach club and restaurant. If you’ve ever been to Tulum, Mexico, then you’ll see a lot of similarities in the decor here.
For lunch, you’ll find a menu offering tropical fusion food—BBQ Margarita Chicken Tostadas, Sushi Bowl, to name a few items.
We came here just before setting off on our DIY south island road trip (one of the best things to do in Bonaire) and it was delicious! The wait time delayed us a bit, but the food was wonderful as were the vibes, drinks, and service.
El Pescado Fishbar
- 🏷 $$
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 1 Kaya Isla Riba
The El Pescado Fishbar became one of our favorite places to eat in Bonaire. The vibe is super chill, inviting, and cute! The restaurant is located right in the heart of downtown Kralendijk—perfect for going out on an evening stroll.
Here, you can dine on fresh fish and “street food” seafood like kibbeling. Their menu features mostly “sea to table” fish, with their specialty being the Seacuterie Fish Platter which comes with an array of different seafood plates such as tuna tataki, shrimp, seafood soup, and more, all on one very long cutting board.
The drink menu features gin, Portuguese white wine, French rosé, sangria, or whatever the barman can whip up for you. Happy Hour is between 3 and 5 pm (wink wink).
Chill & Grill Dinner/Cruise
- 🏷 Around $105/person
- ⛵️ Dinner on a catamaran
While this isn’t a restaurant, it might be a great way to combine a fun activity with dinner! On this Chill & Grill Catamaran Cruise, you get unlimited drinks (including beer, soft drinks, or wine), plus a 4-course menu.
Not only do you get served a full dinner, but you also get 2x snorkeling excursions (one guided), and the opportunity to watch the sunset as you sail around the sandy shores off Klein Bonaire.
We did this cruise with Epic Tours Bonaire on one of our last nights in Bonaire, and it was so fun!
Rum Runners
- 🏷 $$+
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 103 Kaya Gobernador N. Debrot
Rum Runners has one of the best dining terraces in Bonaire, but we completely missed out on the “friendly service” when we went. Yes, the food and drinks were delicious—I had a great passionfruit margarita and seafood pasta—but the service was… lacking.
Rum Runners would’ve been a top contender for the best restaurants in Bonaire but our server spoiled it a bit for us. As many other reviews read, it’s kind of a “hit or miss” with the service. We would love to go back and give RR another try, though, as I’m sure not all waiters are like the one we had.
Luckily, we still enjoyed our time and the fiery sunset did not disappoint!
Senang Restaurant
- 🏷 $$+
- 🍴 Menu
- 📍 Delfins Beach Resort
Senang is the newest restaurant addition to the Delfins Beach Resort. It is a beautiful oriental-inspired and decorated restaurant serving a luxurious buffet breakfast and rotating lunch/dinner menu.
On the menu, you’ll find flavors and plates like Okonomiyaki, Shabu Shabu (hotpot), and Blue Marlin tataki.
If you’re not a guest at the hotel or if your room rate doesn’t include breakfast, then you’ll pay a fixed price of $23 USD per person. The buffet is fairly upscale with a dedicated juice bar, specialty egg menu, and more.
More Places to Eat in Bonaire
Local Food
If you’re looking for more local dishes to try in Bonaire, then you’ll want to seek out these:
- Pastechi — find these cheese and meat-stuffed snacks inside the airport at Techno Bar (yes, really!)
- Iguana or Goat Stew — you can try this local specialty at Posada Para Mira or other local restaurants in Bonaire.
- Sopí Kadushi — as you’ll see, the Kadushi cactus is abundant on the island, so it’s made its way into the cuisine as well!
- Keshi Yena — baked Edam cheese stuffed with simmering spiced meat.
Tostibar / Jungle Bar
Another restaurant in Bonaire we tried was the Tostibar (now Jungle Bar). It’s not actually a restaurant, but a small, hole-in-the-wall café serving up fresh juices, sandwiches, quesadillas and paninis. The food was yummy and it was a great choice for an on-the-go lunch. $ / Menu.
Joe’s Restaurant
We didn’t get to try Joe’s (or the other restaurants mentioned below), but our friends came here and loved it! In their words, the service was fast and the food was amazing. You can find it tucked off the side of the road nearby VIP Diving. $$ // Menu.
Here are even more recommended places to eat during your vacation in Bonaire:
- Cuba Compagnie
- It Rains Fishes
- Capriccio Bonaire
- The Coffee Bar
- Cactus Fence
- Between 2 Buns
- Karel’s Beach Bar
- Blennie’s Restaurant (Buddy Dive Resort)
- Island Tingz Bonaire
Bonaire’s cuisine is just as diverse as its landscapes, culture, and people. We had the best time discovering the island through these restaurants. My only wish is that we could do it all over again! 🤤
