My Nomad Travel Gear & Blogging Tools

I’ve been learning photography, blogging, and content creation for the last ten years.

While I don’t believe you need the best tools to start your creative journey, I do know from experience that leveling up your gear can help level up your mindset and give you the self-permission and flexibility to grow into a sharper, more professional artist and creative.

Below is a snapshot of my current gear setup as a digital nomad and full-time travel blogger, photographer, and content creator.

📸 A note for budding photographers!

You don’t need to shell out $$$$ on camera gear if you won’t use it! My first “professional” blogging camera was the Sonya6000 and I still recommend it for beginners. My most important tip is to invest more in a quality lens. Avoid buying “bundles” that include the camera body + general lens kit.

I now use both the Sony FE 24-70mm f.28 GM II and the Sony FE 70-200mm f2.8 GM II on the Sony Alpha A7 IV full-frame body.

These are both Sony’s line of G Master lenses for professionals—aka quite expensive, high-quality lenses and are probably overkill for most travel bloggers and creators. However, I love shooting with them because it allows me to get professional-quality, creative compositions to document the diversity of my adventures (landscapes, textures, details, portraits, nature, culture, etc.).
